The Rule of the Holy Spirit (Acts 7: 9-16)
Genesis 12 contains all the elements of a nation: people, territory, and sovereignty. But for true sovereignty, it must be governed by God. By making Joseph the prime minister of Pharaoh, the greatest power, he shows that there is a concept of government in Gods kingdom. So no matter how enslaved you are, if you leave the world well with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will be governed by the Holy Spirit of God. Today I want to think about the rule of the Holy Spirit.
First. we have to go through jealousy
The fact that Abrahams offspring will be enslaved starts at the same time the Joseph entered Egypt. Stephen after Abrahams story directly became a part of the story of Joseph. Joseph was most loved by his father, and he dreamed of his brothers bowing to him. It is a dream to save Israel in the future. But, because of the jealousy that rose from his brothers who did not recognize the dream as a Messiah dream, he was sold to Egypt. However, it is expressed that God was with Joseph in Egypt despite his brothers Jealousy.Stephen cited Joseph because Josephs suffering and glory were models of Christ. That is for the Sanhedrin religious leaders and Jews to realize that Jesus is the Messiah. We must always be able to find Christ anywhere when reading the Bible, especially when we read the Old Testament. The promise, their offspring becoming the descendant of the promise after 400 years passed, started with jealousy, but it became the salvation of the nation. Not having jealousy is also not a good or bad thing. In retrospect, For the salvation of Israel, the jealousy of his brothers was necessary. There are three kinds of tests. While we are bullied by Satan or ourselves, the best test is to be bullied by others. When others bother me, there is a good chance that this can be sublimated into the rule of the holy spirit that we will be able to have spiritual offspring. Joseph provoked his brothers because he was immature. You have to go through the time of others being jealous of you, but you are also the problem causing the jealousy. So you need to know this time well.
Q. Are you jealous of your brothers/sisters? Or are you the one that others are jealous of?
Second. We need to be good at being slaves
So today the rule of the Holy Spirit is introduced. Not only did he deliver Joseph from his tribulation, but he also placed him in honor. 'Pharaoh has built up' means that he appointed Joseph to be Egypts prime minister and authorized him to govern his palace and the whole of Egypt. However, spiritually, when you are given this sovereignty, you have a sense of ownership. Belief in Jesus is supposed to rule the unbelieving boss in a lower position. The trick is to be good at being a slave. Because Joshua was a servant, he not only ruled as ruler over the whole family and nation, but as ruler over the whole church. Getting saved from suffering is synonymous with being good at slavery.
Q. Do you agree that to be saved from troubles by God is good at being a slave? Have you ever become a ruler because you were good at being a slave like Joseph?
Third, we need to go through difficult times in life
In order to reveal Gods reign, a famine was necessary for both Egypt and all the land of Canaan. If there is no famine, the brothers will never go to Egypt. That is why no humble person is present, but what makes a humble person is a humble environment. Josephs kinship was revealed to Pharaoh, but because of the great famine, Jacob was revealed to Pharaoh. The heart of the redemption history is Jacob, who has been through the worst times. To introduce Jacob, Joseph made his brothers go to Egypt to become prime ministers. Jacob, who had lived through the harsh times, came to Pharaoh, and not Pharaoh blessed Jacob, but Jacob, who lived a rugged life, blessed Pharaoh of the worlds greatest power. This is the concept of the government of Gods kingdom. It is the reign of the Holy Spirit that no matter what kind of life you have lived, when you believe in God, walk with Him, and become a child of God, you can bless anyone.
Q. Are you ashamed of your life because its full of troubles? Do you bless others through the rule of the Holy Spirit?
Fourth, we need to be faithful about where we will be buried.
Jacob died in Egypt, but his will was that his sons would have his funeral in the land of Canaan. So, in Genesis 50, it is like evangelizing, showing the way to heaven, how magnificent the funeral is. There was Gods plan for Joseph to become prime minister. God used Jacobs funeral to show the rule of the Holy Spirit. Here, the final destination, Macbella cave that Abraham paid with silver, is Sarahs burial ground. Sarah died in Hebron, the promised land, where Jesus came. When Abraham realized that the burial ground was important through Sarah, he bought the land in Genesis 23 for a price. Looking to the city of heaven, Abraham bought Sarahs burial ground, and then gave Isaac his possessions and other children his properties, and died. Even though other brothers took all their possessions, he showed Isaac the faith of burial place that he would believe in Jesus and have no wish if he would go to heaven. After all, Gods promised land is not the land of this world, but the kingdom of heaven. Even after four hundred years have passed, the burial site is remembered, and Josephs dead bones lead two million people. The role of Josephs bones, even if he was prime minister, was to reveal that Egypt was not their home. You have to pay and buy only for salvation. Rather than leaving money to the children, it is a four hundred buck that paid for your children when you did the work of the Lord and did a good job. A few weeks ago a wife came out and gave her testimony, and today is the story of her husband. I divorced and married my wife now. There is no regret, but we repent by listening to the sermons from Wooridle Church. Regarding the childrens promised land, it was mutually recognized that remarriage that stems from our affair was wrong. I have children with my ex, and it is difficult to recover my relationship with them. My wife and I adopted our son, and he has cerebral hydrocephalus. I experience a lot of grace through this child, and I think we are already doing a good mission throughout his life. Im just trying to live my best now. My child is a gift from Heaven to make us all children of God. This is the rule of the Holy Spirit, and I believe that God will recognize this heart.
Q. What is the price you need to pay in order to have your children/ families come back to where you will be buried?
