Todayamprsquos QT passage. Itamprsquos impossible to see Godamprsquos intentions in anything until theyamprsquove been accomplished.
Joseph and his brothers couldnamprsquot see Godamprsquos hand in selling Joseph to Egypt.
But in the midst of Godamprsquos working of famine and Jacobamprsquos death in Egypt, Josephamprsquos brothers face their sins and repent.
Their confession lets Joseph see into the mystery of God, which he shares with his brothers (v.20).
I canamprsquot see things from Godamprsquos perspective and so I struggle with the consequences of my sins and wonder what God is up to in my life.
My adultery and first marriage led to finishing some university degrees which led to my teaching career and the support of my family.
The loss of my pension money led to the likelihood of working until I die.
My adultery just before my first wifeamprsquos death led to an affair that cost me my job and almost my career.
The collapse of my life for a few years led to my coming to Korea, marrying my wife and joining Wooridle Church.
That led to my ongoing confession and repentance and the resurrection of my career in education and a PhD.
First came my repentance, then the restoration of my life.
Iamprsquom 71. Itamprsquos taken me this long to see something of Godamprsquos intentions in my life and the working of some good for others.
I have no idea where the Lord is taking me. All I know is that repentance precedes revelation.
Application: keep my focus on QT to learn where my repentance lies.
