[Management of the Holy Spirit]
Acts 19:21~22
Paul decided to go to Macedonia and Achaia, and also Rome with the accumulated force of the Holy Spirit. In verse 21, the word 'decided to go' in the revised Korean translation Bible was replaced by the word 'managed to go' in the revised translation Bible. So today, lets think about the management of the Holy Spirit.
First, it is a principle to be guided to the Holy Spirit.
Paul would have keenly felt the power of the gospel by watching the reform that led to social salvation in which those who believed now openly confessed their evil deeds and voluntarily burned magic books corresponding to silver equivalent to 50,000 drachma through the two-year and three-month-long Gods Word ministry in Ephesus. Paul might be able to see the vision to go to Rome, the heart of the world, when he got confidence in Ephesus, called the Little Rome. At that time, Pauls age was already past the point of resting at the end of his ministry. In addition, he had a physical thorn as he confessed to carrying the traces of Jesus. Despite poor conditions such as physical, mental, and spiritual dangers and continuous hardships, Paul decided to return to Jerusalem through Macedonia and Achaia, and definitely to go to Rome. The word, 'Decision' or 'Management (verse 21), means, in the language of Hebrew,' 'Decision or Management is placed within its spiritual territory.' Paul has already experienced that the Gods leading gospel toward Macedonia spreads to Asia much more effectively than his plan. Pauls experience was an important lesson and became the principle of mission. Also, Paul does not plan to go to Asian Minor region, based on the principle of not building a house on someone elses site. This is because Pauls management purpose is not the expansion of the church through effective missionary work, but the expansion of the kingdom of God. Paul managed a missionary strategy in the Holy Spirit and in the Word for any decision. To this end, listening to daily lectures, the Word QT, and sharing about that become a big principle of being guided by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is the management of the Holy Spirit to find a missionary site that must visit within the Holy Spirit.
Second, you have to follow-up management of the place where the gospel spread.
Paul always thought of the saints of the place he preached as children who gave birth to the gospel and tried to look back on them. Concerns about the church have always continued, so all correspondence letters account for a large portion of the concern about heresy. Paul continued to have concerns about the church, so all his correspondence letters account for a large portion of the concerns about heresy. The places Paul wanted to visit for follow-up management are the churches of Macedonia and Achaia. Just because youre decided you dont have to hurry in time. You should always look around if there is the best mission even where you are. Its not the management of the Holy Spirit to leave because you dont like one place and you like another. If you like or dislike a place or situation, you cant handle what happens next. Wherever I am now, the attitude to handle the given mission to me is the management of the Holy Spirit. During his stay, there is a disturbance of silversmith, and Paul is threatened with life. Even if suffering and being bound are waiting, it is the management of the Holy Spirit that is guided by the will of the Holy Spirit. Marriage also requires follow-up management and the management of the Holy Spirit.
Third, dont forget the roots.
Paul was called for missionary work for strangers, but he did not forget the Church of Jerusalem, the origin of the gospel, and always recognized and followed it as an upper order.
So he has to protect the results of the evangelism and visit the Jerusalem Church to deliver the relief donations collected from Macedonia and Achaia. And here, there are also hardships and bonds waiting. Paul was persecuted and misunderstood countless times as a traitor to Jews and a person who removes the remaining people to Christians. Each time, he thought he was like the Jews, so he could admit it was his conclusion of life and it could become the secret to evangelizing the world. He taught the gospel to relatives of Jews and continued to make good the physical shortage of the Christians who had tried to ruin. However, such the good plan like this could be also disrupted. The management of the Holy Spirit does not always go straight and smoothly. So if you prayed, and all you have to do is to believe it.
Fourth, you have to keep moving toward the vision.
After Paul the Apostle secured Corinthian Church and Ephesians Church on both sides of the Aegean Sea and Philippian Church on the west side as a bridgehead for the gospel, so he dreamed of evangelizing Europe around Rome and even Spain, the country of the end of the earth he didnt even know. Despite the Holy Spirits determination and management, Paul preached the gospel in Rome as the state of a prisoner. This was Gods providence to preach the gospel under the protection of Roman troops from Jewish threats to Pauls life. Therefore, there is no interruption in the management of the Holy Spirit. Paul, who later visited Rome again and preached the gospel, is said to have been martyred in Rome.. Pauls management seems to have lost money, but through this, the gospel has been passed down and changed around the world. If it is a management that was guided by the Holy Spirits Words, that itself is a response. After listening to the lecture of the Holy Spirit, when the force of the Holy Spirit builds up, it makes a mature interpretation, so it does not fluctuate no matter what happens. If you enter the community of the Word with QT(the meditation and applying of the Gods Word) and share it, it becomes the management of the Holy Spirit even if it looks too weak. If you keep on follow-up care and you go well though you dont like it and live today well every day, you will see a vision. Its an example story of a young man who had an interview for a civil service exam a few days ago. He was asked a question about 'A solution to the problem of children who have to leave the nursery at the age of 18 in Korea' and recalled the sermon about Michael Sandells republican communitarianism. As he cited Michael Sandels recent book and he emphasized the importance of the community, a sharing community which can open even the bottom of the heart. And as he stated Sandels 《THE TYRANNY OF MERIT: WHATS BECOME OF THE COMMON GOOD?》, insisted that if the world put too much emphasis on meritocracy, it should break social solidarity and Inevitably need a solution as an alternative and thats just the Sandels republican communitarianism. It emphasize the importance of community solidarity to solve the complex social problems. When the judge asked him if he had ever experienced such a community, he introduced his church community small group. We want to show only good things with masks on, but there we can open the hidden stories inside, even the private problems. And there, we can gain sympathy and sympathize with each other by honestly talking about family problems, unemployment, diseases, and love issues, so he hopes that all the children who end protection come to our community. Its a really amazing and creative answer. This is the management of the Holy Spirit. In conclusion, you have to raise children by the Word. Children who answer with Word, QT, and apply them into each life are managed by the Holy Spirit.
In principle, the management of the Holy Spirit should be guided by the Holy Spirit. Follow-up management should be done where gospel has spread. This is the place like Macedonia and Achaia which I want to see. And we shouldnt forget the roots. This is the place like the Jerusalem Church that we need to visit. And you have to keep going toward the vision. This is Rome, a must-see place, and you plan to spread the gospel. When the Word and the guidance of our community become our principles, the Holy Spirit will manage you. I hope Jesus vision will be your vision and mission and to be like that, each of you live a life well day by day
