[The testimony of the Holy Spirit]
Acts 10:39-43
As a witness Peter testified the Gospel of the peace that Jesus Chris told through persuasion, introduction and meeting of the Spirit to Cornelius family, the Gentile. He gave up the sense of the chosen people only for testifying of the Gospel.
Today, Ill think of the testimony of the Holy Spirit
First, we have to testify as a witness of the Spirit
We including the apostles are witness of everything which the Lord has done, especially after being killed and survived.
Peters expression of Jesus death as a 'tree,' not a cross, emphasizes how cursed Jesus death was, and it means that no matter how much cursed life Im enduring, it cannot be compared to the pains Jesus, the Creator, received.
Among the eight blessings, the seventh is blessing of the peace and the eighth is persecution
The Lord only says rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven in the blessing of persecution
Those who truly enjoy peace and the peacemaker can be persecuted or endured it. Therefore, fear might be come to us continually for three hundred and sixty-five times, but I believe that God will cover it with more peace.
The word witness has the same etymology as Martus, means martyr. The original meaning is that the waves spread continually when you throw a stone into the water. If you take the cross well and obey your environment, every word of your testimony spreads like a wave and acts as a witness on your own
It is the witnesss attitude to always hung on the trees through your life, namely, to testify about deficiency, shame and guilt. Therefore, if you want to testify as a witness of the Lord, you should not shame at all in your circumstances
The testimony of the Holy Spirit is that the Holy Spirit helps us to use the language of heaven as that of the earth. If it is the story of heaven that Jesus was killed and revived, it is that of the earth and the testimony of the Holy Spirit that allows you to apply it to your life.
I believe that God will revive you within three days if you hung on the tree and die well like the Lord. Because our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Second, We ate meal with the Lord can do
The witness chosen in advance is the grace of the Lord. You cannot explain it unless its a special grace from the Lord. Jesus of Resurrection is only visible to the chosen. He showed us who especially ate with Him today the real Resurrection,
Peter first tell you that the Lord appeared and ate food with disciples while
demonstrating the actual Resurrection. It is because the story of healing the disease goes by quickly and talking about the Lord eating with Him is the most practical and enjoyable thing
The Lord himself is a reward and delight, so if you want to talk about the Lord at a small group or meeting, you must testify with emotion that He also appeared to sinners like me. The small group which has at least one person who confesses (s)he is a sinner has high chance to survive. Because he is the witness of the Resurrection of the Lord.
Third, You have to deliver the judgement.
After having a meal with the Lord, now we are given an order to 'deliver the things that youve heard and seen'. He gave us this order because we have seen Him practically. He specifically ordered us to prove that it is Him who judges the living and the dead. He, who lives within you, will help you effectively and provide you with capabilities to kill and revive people, only if you believe in Him. Although many people have tendency to consider the day of His return merely a day of resurrection, it is obvious that those who believe in Him are already saved and have nothing to do with the judgement day. But theres one concern, which is whether He will acknowledge you as the one who truly believes. Its true that the judgement issues are not welcomed, but He had been speaking about Hell a way more than Heaven. Those who are rife with self confidence shall be judgement themselves. Salvation and judgement are totally different words, so youve got to take judgement words with pleasure as well.
Fourth, You have to deliver the grace for your forgiven sins.
Being forgiven means that any kinds of causes for every human being in the world to live a pathetic life and be destroyed will be gone. However, that having your sins forgiven can be done only when you believe in Him. If you are always the sacrificed ones and lack the grace for having your sins forgiven, even if you evangelize someone, it wouldnt last long. C.S. Lewis referred arrogance to 'the worst wickedness coming from the Hell'. Compared to arrogance, there are trivial sins, such as lewd, lust, greed and envy. Homosexuality is the worst out of all sins, for people dont acknowledge it as a severe sin even though God Himself claimed it is. They dont understand the grace for having their sins forgiven. You can never have your sins forgiven without tearing down arrogance, can never give testimony of Him without having your sins forgiven. It is as though you have to break your golden plates in order to see Jesus Christ. One of the biggest troubles in the world is human relationships. Without getting rid of your sins, can you never solve troubles between others. Of course, cant evangelize either. Youve got to solve this problem to settle your human relationships, to give testimony and to become the certainly needed ones. On the other hand, giving testimony of Him takes care of your problems with human relationships. You would live in peace without changing others because you would be the changed one.
Heres one story telling us the importance of sharing testimony with the next generation. 'I had shared gospels with my son. There was a word regarding the comparison between murderer and homosexual at the end of preach. My son talked about his friends having a discussion with others about homosexual human rights movement at the summer retreat last year. When others had expressed obvious hatred and pessimistic feelings towards homosexuality, my son got emotional, saying that how could Christians express such feelings. Next day, he said he was about to have a discussion with his dad, saying Dad, if you got emotional because you were suspicious of me becoming homosexual, arent you supposed to be ready to listen to me without getting rid of your hatred towards homosexuality? Without doing so, who would talk about that with me. His words left me speechless. Its difficult helping my son differentiate the way to live in the holy community.'
We all think that this conversation between dad and son is the gospel of peace and testimony of the Holy Spirit. We believe that when you face your sins and give testimony with His help, there would be a number of witnesses of the Holy Spirit.
