Psalm 65. Songs of Joy
Psalm 65 is a long, happy song of joy and praise to the Lord, which matched my day of bright sunshine in a beautiful blue canopy of many blessings.
Our brother James Geissart passed his first GED test after a lot of worry and study. That success for him is the first fruit of his studying, a fitting fall harvest.
Here it is autumn and the harvest of many foods are showing up in the markets, apples especially. I bought a bowlful from a seller near my apartment. We ate one after supper while scrolling through pictures of the autumn beauties of 오대산 national park.
Today a couple of teachers and I had a meeting with the mother of a grade 1 boy who has learning disabilities. She was worried we would expel him from the school but our concern was to have him tested to diagnose the problems so we could adjust our teaching and help the boy. She left the school singing our praises. I had prayed last night for that meeting and prayed again when I got to school. The Lord blessed our meeting.
I walked through the park beside my school on the way to the bank. The trees and their leaves and the late blooming of the 무궁화, Koreaamprsquos national flower, and blue blue sky made me feel richer than any bank full of money ever could.
I registered for swimming again after two months of absence, one month because of illness. I could register because God blessed me with a return to health and energy enough to revel in the delights of swimming, which he invented.
I read a book on C.S. Lewis and felt excited all over again by his joy in Godamprsquos creation in his Narnia stories where he captivates his readers with the love of God and his inspiration of sacrifice.
Today I thanked God for being alive and my sins forgiven, atoned for by my loving Saviour and Creator.
All of this and far, far more is what Psalm 65 sang through me today.
Application: Did it already, praising God throughout this day.
Lord, thank you for you creation and the spirit in me that sees it. Grow my spirit, Lord, to ever praise you for the wonders I see and alert me to more that I am not yet sensitive to.
