Today’s passage is Matthew 9:1-8.
Jesus went back across the lake where he met some men carrying a paralytic to him. At first Jesus told the man his sins were forgiven but then, when some teachers of the law complained about his words, he told the paralysed man to get up, take his mat and go home. He did and the crowd praised God.
In my mokjang, one of the members was worried about sharing
because he didn’t know any theology and he thought he needed that knowledge in order to share some of his story!
We immediately put him at ease when we said none of us knew any theology.
All we needed was knowing that we were sinners and we loved God enough to want to have a better relationship with him.
Another member said he could never do QTs like one of our group, who said neither could he five years ago!
Any relationship takes time and effort. It’s so simple.
Go to worship, do QT and share in mokjang. That’s it.
No one’s keeping score. No one’s judging.
Nobody has better sharing than anyone else.
We said that sharing your story is sharing what God is doing in your life.
Everyone has a mat.
Today I shared with my students what it’s like to live with an alcoholic wife and my role in keeping her alcoholic.
Every time I share, I pick up my mat.
Lord, keep me humble, keep encouraging me to share my story, to pick up my mat and go home to you.
