Yesterday I sealed my name to a document giving my son the authority to deal with legal issues in Canada on my behalf.
I had to make this document because no agency would accept my son's authority.
It had to be mine, either in person or my sealed name.
Even though I am in Canada, my school has been sending me notifications of letters and documents that require my name, my signature.
Some of the letters they can stamp with my signature but others require me to seal my name to.
To get into the airport to board a plane requires my signature on immigration forms as well as my passport which has my sealed name.

To marry my wife, I had to seal my name to a document.
To rent my apartment, I had to seal my name to a binding agreement.
To work in my school I had to seal my name to a binding agreement.
My word alone is not enough to live in this world.
I am required to seal my name to a binding agreement at every turn.
Binding agreements are necessary because I am not trustworthy.
That is why God gave me Jesus to seal the agreement of my salvation with his blood. The cross is the binding agreement of my forgiveness when I confess my sins.

I am a sinner. I break agreements. I make excuses.
I am now in an airport waiting for my delayed flight.
I will spend all day in airports and airplanes. I will be tired when I get home.
I will try to make an excuse not to attend 부부mokjang because I wil have jetlag, my body will be sore and my eyes stinging.
But, because Jesus died for me, I will go. His agreement truly binds me.
