I haven’t had a chance
to talk much with her.

Behind my back though
while sneaking out after church
Pastor Kim yelled with her low voice.

Fiddle around
this morning being slothful
as always
suddenly the voice buzzing my ears,
“Do your QT study hard.”

Filch to skip a verse or two
getting kind of bored
as usual
austerely the voice thumping my heart,
“Do your QT study hard.”

Then
Open are my eyes
to songs of Solomon
Open are my ears
to spirit of Psalms

Heed the rod and
the One who has hit you
for mighty cause
Listen to His calling
only with utter obedience

Coming is your wisdom
thriving for salvation
in the house of prayers


Listen! The Lord is calling to the city- and to fear your name is wisdom- Heed the rod and the One who appointed it. (Micah 6:9)
