<말씀을 듣고 행함(야고보서 1:19-27)>
-My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. (듣는 것은 신속히, 말하기는 더디게, 성내기도 더디게)
-Your anger can never make things right in God’s sight. (성냄은 하나님 보시기에 네가 결코 일을 의롭게 이룰 수 가 없도다.)
-So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, for it is strong enough to save your souls.(인생에서 모든 오물과 악을 버리고 하나님께서 너희 마음에 심으신 메시지를 겸손하게 받을지어다)
-If you just listen and don’t obey, it is like looking at your face in the mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. (듣기만 하고 순종치 아니한다면 이는 마치 거울로 자기 생긴 얼굴을 보고 외모를 치장하지는 아니하는 것과 같도다)
-You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. (자기 자신을 보고, 걸어 나가서 자기 생김새를 잊어버리는 것이니라)
-But if you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law-the law that sets you free-and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. (너를 자유케 해주는 하나님의 온전한 율법을 꾸준히 들여다 보고, 그 율법이 말하고자 하는 바를 행하면서 들을 것을 잊지 않는다면 그 행하는 일에 하나님께서 축복하리라)
-If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are just fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.(누구든지 스스로 경건하다고 주장하면서 자기 혀를 재갈 물리지 아니한다면 그 경건함은 헛것이라)
-Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us. (하나님 아버지가 보시기에 정결하고 지속적인 경건함이란 곧 환난 중에 있는 고아들과 과부들을 돌보고 세속에 타락함을 거부하는 것 이니라)
