베드로전서 3장 8-12절
In today’s passage, it said no matter how mean and annoying a person is, I need to bless and respect them no matter what. At first I didn't understand because for me, if someone hits me, my instinct is to fight back. But Peter said that (verse 9) “If they swear at you, don’t swear back. If they hit you, don’t hit them back. Why? Because God gave us a life so we can bless others, not fight.” Before this, Jesus had told Peter, “You don’t forgive people who sin 7 times, but you forgive them 77 times.” This meant that no matter how annoying, mean, and rude, we have to bless them.
Last year, when I was in fourth grade, a new student came halfway through the school year. At first I wanted to be her friend and be nice to her. But by the second week, everyone avoided her. Because she was a bit “different” from others. She smelled our hair, touched us without permission, and asked private things, ignoring our personal space. This year, I got into a different class, and I hoped she wouldn’t touch me without consent anymore.
But even so, everyone avoided morning she asked my friends where I was and looked for me. When she found me, She would squeal and run to me and grad my arms and touch my stuff and hair. I didn’t wanna admit it but I hated her. No matter how many times I told her to not touch me without consent she would forget in a few minutes, and do it again. But today I learned that even through she forgets, touches, and annoys me, I have to bless her and realize that I’m not a good person when I try to ignore and escape from her.
So from now on I will pray to God to help me remember this passage and be a good person no matter what.
